Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)
The Recording Industry Association of America project is an adaptive reuse of the old Woodward and Lothrop department store turned into mixed-use office and retail space. The dynamic 10th-floor site is clad in photomurals and colorful glazing that divides the space and makes programming clear through intuitive wayfinding. The main conference rooms doubles as live and simulcast performance space for artists, smaller conferences become green rooms, and the multiuse reception area provides a bar space when the office fully turns into a music venue. A large folding glass wall arcs from the main conference room to reception further opening the space while a curvilinear colorful acrylic wall adds chromatic energy. Light fixtures and walls angle to mirror the irregular perimeter and uncommon shape of the layout.
